How do I import a text style into a new drawing?

There are a few ways to import text:

Method 1

Create the text style in the drawing template or in the current drawing:

Creating the text style in the template will load that text style every time a drawing is opened.

Use the command STYLE to get the following dialogue box up, where the text style can be created to suit requirements:



Further information can be obtained from AutoCad help under "Text Style dialog box".

Method 2

Use Design Center (ADCENTER) to simply Drag & Drop the text style into the new drawing:



ADCENTER
has been available since AutoCAD Release 2000.

Method 3

Copy a text object from another drawing into the new drawing:

Then delete that text object and the drawing will be left with that text style. AutoCad will remember that text style as being in the new drawing, providing the drawing is not purged before placing text in the drawing using that text style.
