AutoCAD LT primarily differs from AutoCAD (full) in that it does not have 3D capability*, Lisp customization, or Express Tools.

As new versions of AutoCAD have been released, and some Express Tools commands have been progressively removed from Express Tools to become part of the normal command structure of AutoCAD, they have also become part of the normal command structure of AutoCAD LT.

However, AutoCAD LT costs about 36% of the cost of full AutoCAD.

Free trial versions of AutoCAD LT and AutoCAD (full), along with other AutoDesk products can be obtained from Autodesk Products

* Although AutoCAD LT does not include the tools for creating 3D objects, it can open and manipulate drawings that contain 3D objects created in full AutoCAD.

Can anyone tell me basicly how to create a drawing in AC 2004 using a set scale. I am a brand new user and know the basics on how to create a drawing and what the tools are and do but I need to create a block plan for my house and it needs to be in 1:200 scale. Is it better to set the scale before drawing or just draw it anyway you want and can and then set the scale when you print. I am self taught but haven't figured out the scale thing yet! I have looked in the Help but can't understand the lingo as they think we all got taught in Tech School or something similar!(Please see the Forum-080319-Tiger)

AutoCAD LT 2009 added some of the missing items (most notably the IMAGE command). See: http://katescadtips.blogspot.com/2008/02/autocad-lt-2009-first-thoughts.html (Included - 9 July 08-Tiger)

AutoCAD Lt 2008 does have quickcalc. In command line, type quickcalc or qc. It should work fine:) (Thanks - Tiger 21 August 2008)
