I am having troble with the quality of cad drawing printed in Photoshop. I transfer them to photoshop using postscript. Some of the lines get filed up. I notice that with postscript what you see on the Cad Screen gets transfer to Photoshop. For exmple if I have 6 lines equaly spaced when I move the up& down cursor in Cad the spase between some of the lines looks smaller than the others. When transfered to photoshop the space between the same line gets filled. please help. how can i fix it.

Have you followed the "plot to PostScript" option in the tutorial?

I have followed the exact explention and ploted to file with postscrip2 and 1 the result is still the same It seems that postscrip copys what you see on the screen not the actual file info. there must be way to fix the problem in cad so when you scroll or zoom out the space between the lines is not affected and when you transfer to Photoshop is exact as dimensioned. For example if i transfer stair rail to photoshop that has four tubes from bottom to top 4" each some of the tubes look and print like a full black line instead of two lines. I have notice that when scroling in Cad the same line spaces shift and look smaller but when zoom in there look equaly spaced.

I think your problem lies with the resolution of the raster image that you are using when the PS file is imported to Photoshop. Try using a higher resolution/image size for better quality results.

Do you mean when i opened in photoshop? I open it with 300 pixels and try 400, 500 stil the same. I think the problem lies with Autocad.

I am having a problem with the lines. After exporting the DWG using the postscript plot I open the file using photoshop like instructed. I have noticed though that the lines become a little distorted. Can anyone help me with this issue?

When you say "distorted" do you mean they are slightly "fuzzy"? If so, deselect the "anit-alias" option in the Photoshop rasterization dialogue box. That will give you crisp lines.

Thanks for the reply. When I said distorted I should have specified that the lines are jagged. I have made sure to make a straight line in AutoCad before i brought in the DWG.
