Here's one for everyboy. I am working on a "project" where I need to render a solid that is kinda in the shape of a trapazoid with a image file. The image file is also in said shape. I tried using a .jpg but with no luck. I know ACAD can use transparencys with .png files when inserting an image in a drawing but can it use an image with transparency as a material for a rendering? I wish I could share this image but I have a gag order not to reveal said "project". I am just trying to find some help. Let's just say it is a road sign for a company and I would like to have their logo as the material for the sign.
Thanks all.

Well, actually this is a lot easier than it sounds. You don't need to worry about transparency since you can get AutoCAD to crop the image to fit to the solid. So, create a rectangular bitmap and draw your trapezoidal image on it so that the shape exactly matches that of the solid. Then, create a new material using this image as per the new tutorial, Creating Custom Bitmap Materials (http://www.cadtutor.net/acad/acad2ki/bitmat/bitmat.html). Then use the "Adjust Bitmap" option - you see the following dialogue box.
http://www.cadimage.net/cadtutor/image1.gif
Make sure that the Map Style is set to "Fit to Object" and that the Tiling is set to "CROP".
Once you have done this you can render your scene and the trapezoidal part of the bitmap image should fit perfectly over the trapezoidal solid.
Let us know how you get on.

WOW! That was too easy. Thanks David. I cannot believe that I did not see that. I've never really had any instruction in 3D AutoCAD. I had to teach it to myself, I guess it shows. Thanks a bunch.
