Exactly!Competition I guess fair enough, but alot of UK & American companies have taken their services abroad so they can pay knock down wages.Lately quite a few of them have done an about turn.Companies that arent small either,BT & IBM for instance.Weve tried it ourselves at work gone to other counties that charge peanuts for CAD services,it's not the easiest method and relaying paper drawings takes too long,to scan it would be too much ££ and time,so we only ever use CAD from India or singapore if we have a massive rush,dont have the manpower and need a few drawings done.The drawings have to also be checked over again and checked for variations in standards. Other than that I dont see much use for it.

I try to promote the Forum as much as I can. But if it means promoting others people's business.....forget it! It's one thing to have members www. address's on the Forum (and I've visited them) but no one has pushed there services on me (us)....they usually offer help or advice for free! because its a FORUM...I think we should block out ADS.....thats my thoughts and I'm sticking to them!

True ads such as that shouldnt be on this forum.If I wanted to find out about CAD services I'd look elsewhere on the net.Speaking of which I was a MSN autocad forum and got so fed up seeing adverts for services,that I just cancelled my membership.It got to the stage that dating companies were advertising their company on a CAD forum! :shock:

I'm all for that Hyposmurf! I think David already had a poll about having ads on the Forum ( I'm not sure of the outcome...it could probably be found somewhere on the Forum).......hey are you missing something?

Ads *on* the forums are very different from ads *in* the forums...but you're both right -- David doesn't allow ads in the discussion groups, and I'm sure that he'll deal with it as soon as he's aware of it (if he isn't already).
