:shock:I never in a million years thought I would say it but after a 2 hour demo of Solidworks 2007 I have to say its wicked. The amount of work they have put into Solidworks to be Autocad friendly is amazing, they have a 2d import tool that can take a 2d dwg and with a few simple tweeks convert it to a 3d model, it also has cool easy on the eye backgrounds and tools to rebuild and fix models with problems, stress analysis is easy to use, all in all a great product.

 Bubble burst already, I take back what I said (untill proved wrong) ok yes the autocad sketch imported well, yes it extruded well, BUT, can I fully define the sketch, NO. (fully define means control a 2d sketch and stop it from deforming when you change a dimension)

I joined the first forum (with lots of members) I could find on yahoo search and asked the question, "how do I fully define a autocad imported sketch" I got 10 answers quicker than sadam Insaine could say "NOT GUILTY" but no solution, I kid you not, we even took a coffee break, well that was my Idea as the poor forum was working so hard.

Any Solidwork members on here know how to do it???

Where is Bloodwig when you need him (inhouse joke) LOL

EDIT: UPDATE I found my answer for anyone who wishes to know, the answer to this puzzle is a command called ALIGN SKETCH.
simple and easy, job done, fully defined sketch hunt over. :)
