I am running 2002 currently but the office wants to upgrade me to 2006. I know there are a lot of changes between the two and would like run them both on my machine while I get used to 2006. Can I do this (not at the same time but I want to do a full install without replacing 2002)?

Also do I need to worry about this - how have others found this upgrade - traumatic or a no-brainer?

Thanks,

Jason

do resellers still carry 2006?? you might only be able to get 2007, be sure and ask.

and AutoCAD doesn't "replace" the existing version that's installed, but i think by the EULA you have to uninstall the old one once the new install is complete. and don't be frightened by a new version, it's all the same, everything's still there that you're used to, plus a whole lotta cool new features. you'll do just fine 8)

I went from 2002 to 2007 this year and I found it a pretty easy transition. there are a lot of new features but they are fairly simple to work out.

I also went from 2004 to 2007, it wasn't too drastic. Besides if you got a problem you can come here and ask

I got 2k & 2k06 on the same machine. Kept the older one there till I got used to the newer. Haven't been bothered to remove 2k. No conflicts that I'm aware of so you should be ok to have both.
