Blocks dont allow editing

I am a AutoCad virgin going through AutoCad and trying to get some drawings to our Customer.The drawing was done by 3rd parties and I want to present it as 2nd party drawing.
So the original drawing I have stripped out and doctored and now that I want to add our reference into the lower ISO 9001/2 boxes I am faced with "locked" text or boxes that dont allow edit block.
How can I get around this ?

Try to xplode or maybe to remove elevation

Yeah,
I would say start a new drawing; then 'explode' it, but then re-establish it as a new block, otherwise you'll have to deal with a million objects (or however many there may be, lol) everytime you try to re-insert it into a new drawing or just have to deal with the block.

It sounds like you are trying to edit another companies title block. Are you using the REFEDIT command?

Guys thanks for the advice its got me moving again.
Now I have the "model" finished but the 3001 has only 50% completed.Shouldn't the 3001 update in parallel with the "model" work sheet.(Yes I have ISO 9001 boxes on my "model" work sheet and I know this will send me back to jail later....)
