I'm in the process of giving myself a crash course in 3d. The project I'm working on is essentially a plenum that changes from a sideways 8 to an oval.
Is there any way I can change shape as I revolve?
Or to fillet between the mergeing of the two shapes?
I've played a little with rulesurf, but my results are far from what I was looking for.
How to do you turn the dwg file into a jpeg, so I could post a picture that might better indicate what I'm attempting?
Thanks for any help you may be able to offer.

I've actually seen the answer to your question on this forum.I think it may have been an exhaust or something similar,a cylinder changing to a more oval shaped cylinder. It may have been FZ or someone who was discussing it.I'll have a look and see if I can find it for you,or some one else might remember the post.

To post an image hit PRINTSCREEN and then paste into a bitmap editor (or word) crop and then post it.
I can probably help but don't understand ur question/problem !

Ive made a little progress, by subtracting cones out of an ellipse to help me get my shape. But where the circles are extruded back and the oval is extruded forward I still have an abrupt meet that I would like to apply a radius to.
I think I can get most of it out when I play with numbers to get my wall thickness, and tapers exactly right.

Do a forum search for "scone". There are some suggestions for rulesurf that might help.

Hey guys thanks for the quick responses. I'm going to get my hard numbers, this evening, before I put any more work into this one. But now I atleast have a more ideas to experiment with tonight.
Basically the jpeg I posted is the top half, from the back of it I'll revolve an ellipse down into a open plenum. But I know I'm going to have more changes in the cross section.
Does anyone have any info on that m2s lisp? I assume a lisp is like a can program? Where can I get it?
I'll also play with rulesurf some more. Maybe I can get the hang of it. My past experiments the generated sides so to speak did not meet smoothly with either the circle or ellipse.
Thanks
Ryan
