Hi there

Can someone please help?

1. I am using autocad 2002 at college which is fine and the tutor is always on hand to give me assistance but I have autocadLT 2004 installed on my PC at work. My problem is that if I am trying to modify objects i.e. trim or delete I am unable to pick more than one object and have to draw a window around it. I suppose this is something pretty simple but what the heck.....so am I.

2. If I save work at college on a floppy and then modify and save the same work on my works PC it will not recognise it when I again attemp to load it back onto the college PC. Why?

3. Last question. I have just replaced my old home computer with a second hand one. My old one had windows ME operating system and I had autocad 2000 installed. The replacement has windows 98 but I cannot load the cad disc. Do I need to upgrade the operating system to accommodate the cad programme?

Thanks Moz

Welcome, Moz!

Hopefully this will answer your questions:

1. Check your PICKADD variable.

2. AutoCAD 2004 files cannot be opened by any previous version. If you need to open them in 2002, use the "save as 2000" option in 2004.

3. 2004 is not supported on Windows 98 -- if you're trying to load 2000, though, I'm not sure if that would cause problems. I bet somebody else out here knows, though. :-)

Hope this helps -- feel free to come back with more questions!

Just checked the AutoCAD LT 2004 groups at AutoDesk and a few users have said that it works but that it is very sluggish. I would get XP home and enjoy the better OS. Good luck Moz. :D
