View Full Version : Polyline Joining

I'm using AutoCAD 2007.

Sometimes when I join polylines with a global width and create a closed polyline the corners look a little strange (not a clean join).

Is there a variable to adjust how the joins in the polyline look when pedit is used?

If a screen shot would help, let me know.

Many thanks.

What linetype are you using?? sometimes that can make it look a bit strange.

Just using a continious linetype.

Will try and post a screenshot later.

If anyone has the time to tell me or reply a with a link with how post an image or dwg, that'd be great.

Thanks.

the way i do it is to do a 'ctrl+alt+printscreen' then paste it in microsoft paint, save it as a jpg. then just upload it from the options below the message box at CADTutor.

Also, chek to make sure that when you envoke the pline command, your HALFWIDTH numbers are both set to the same number....Vertices will not chamfer correctly if they are not. One other question. At what angle are your vertices? If they are quite shallow, they will not be completely clean.

try this, it may not be the most efficient way,

for each dodgy corner use the break command to cut the corner then use the fillet to connect them again (using radius 0)

if i understood you correctly this should work

I have a problem with the start/end point of my polyline

it's an odd shape. Having read this thread, I've copied it out of my drawing boundary, poked about with it, tried break (which erased most of it), undid that, filleted (polyline), and it's now a complete shape with no awkward join - easy

I've tried to do it to the original, but it won't play ball :?

anybody got any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
