When you render a 3D model and export it as a .bmp why do you only get the skeleton .bmp? Can't you save the rendered 3D as its displayed with the material on it? I would like to see the rendered image.

-Thanks -

Also if your save your 3D drawing as a DWG why does it not display your renderings when its opened up?Thats how you saved it?

Look into the SAVEIMG command. It has changed from release to release but it will export you rendered image. TIFF TGA BMP GIF have all been options at 1 time or another.

Rendering is an external application, not part of the DWG format. The image you see on the screen is not part of the drawing but a 3rd party addin. It isn't just another shademode.

Thanks, it was so simple. I wasn't rendering to the render window, using viewport thats why it did not save the render.

Once I changed my render window options and saved, worked like a charm.

You can save a drawing that has your materials and lights as a template.

that way when you want to render a 3d model in furure, your setting are there. Saves lots of time playing with lights and setting up your materials.
