Hello There
I'm new to the site and first wanted to say hello. Second I'm running AutoCAD 2007 elec and had a few questions. Is anyone else running this platform?
Thanks
Jeff

Go ahead and ask your questions. Don't worry about what flavor of Acad you're running. I'm sure that someone will be able to help. And if we can't, oh well, at least you tried. But you'll never get an answer unless you ask. :) Or was that your question? :P

Ok thanks
1) How do I change the terminal block format so the block number is inside the block and not on the outside edge?
2) How do I establish the project link for the drawings so the wire numbers are tracked from drawing to drawing without repeating the same wire number on a different wire?
3) How do I do a mass print? For example I want to print all drawings in project with one print command.
4) How do I set up the drawing template so the title blocks will automaticaly fill in the title block information?
Thanks
Jeff

1. If it's a block, just use the REFEDIT command to adjust the location of the number.
2. This ones a little tricky. I'm not too sure how to handle that.
3. Check the Help files for information on setting up a Sheet Set.
4. Set up your title block as it's own independant drawing and then Xref it into each of the drawings in your package. That way, you only have to input the information once, and if anything changes, you only have to modify it once.

Thank you I'll give that a try and let you know. The way Autocad elec uses blocks is a little interesting. They are a predefined block that works from a drag and drop system. I'll see if I can post a pic of my screen so everyone can see how different the program itself is. I appreciate all of the help. We are actually going to take some formal training on this product in the future but management here wants me to have my feet good and wet with it so I know what questions to ask when I do. So for now I've been thrown in the water and it looks like I forgot my floaties :D
Ok here they are the first snapshot is just of the interface so everyone can see it

The shot is off the component selection screen. These blocks are all predefined and I'm not actually sure where it is storing them. I may actually use thousands of a terminal block part so it would be very time consuming to refedit each one after the drag and drop so I'll try to find the original.

The final photo is to show after selection of a part (pushbutton, terminal, relay) it allows you to select from lists of catalogs in cad of actual manf part numbers and pre-done part drawings embedded in Cad.

This thing is a very powerful program and does have a tutorial I have been going through online and in the software. It's just a large jump from normal Cad and a lot to take in all at once. They offers so many options of things to do or select that it is very confusing as to where to start.
Thanks again
Jeff
