I am using autocad 2007 architectural desktop. I am trying to put exit signs into my drawing and I can't get it to work for some reason. I have no problem bring in other symbols such as "bell" "buzzer" "horn". It seems to mostly be the exit signs. What could be the problem? Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks,
Jeff

what kind of problem are you having? is it letting you bring it in but it doesn't show up or is it not allowing to to even pick the object....etc.

Try a Zoom > Extents after you insert the block. The insertion point of the block may be a mile away from the actual block itself which will cause the block to be way out in space somewhere.

I can drag it over but when I drop it nothing happens.
AECMVBLOCKADD
Insert point or [NAme/Match] :
This is what is says then when I select my point nothing happens.

Spinnerbayt,
It could be that the block was created on a layer that is frozen or off in the drawing you're trying to insert it into.
Go into layer manager and turn everything on, zoom extents and see if you can see the block(s) anywhere.
Hope this sorts it out.
Kind regards

when you bring it in, try making the scale HUGE to see if you can find where it is getting placed.

Are you using exit signs from the Design Center?
IIRC they may only be attached to grids, like the ceiling.
Instead of just left clicking to place it, try hitting enter and see if you can drop it then
EDIT: Yea, if it comes from the design center it goes in, but unless your display is set to show the reflected ceiling plan view than you won't see the signs

Still not working. Can someone give this a try and see if I works for them?
On Autocad 2007 architectural DT...
1. Click window
2. Open Content Browser
3. Select Design tool catalog - Imperial
4. Select Special Constr
5. Detection and Alarm
6. Try some of the symbols there
I can get the "bell, buzzer, and horn to work but the others I can not.
Thanks again for all your help,
Jeff

Errr, once again.
It's because they're mounted on the ceiling and you don't see the ceiling stuff in plan view. You need to use the RCP.
Trust me, they're there
EDIT: Use your display manager to select reflected and you'll see them, be sure

Ok, now I get it. How can I get them to show up in Plan View?
