Problem viewing romans font in the mtext view screen

Has anyone encountered the problem with seeing the romans font style in the mtext view screen
using r2002

rightclick on your desktop and go propeties>effects. under Visual affects, make sure you have smooth edges of screen fonts unticked. this can affect the way fonts show up in the mutiline editor.
