What do you meen you cant put a roof on it? Can you add little more information like you need to know the command/icon location, you select the roof outline and nothing happens, or something else that is not letting you do this. Thanks.

Sorry for not a lot of info. I'm drawing a two level house. some bedrooms and a garage is only on the first level and of the rest house would have the same outline. Should I draw the roof on those rooms first and then do the roof over the second floor? The house has a lot of bay windows and round corners too.
Hope that make sense...
:?
Thanks

Ok think I got it. Any roof that is seperate needs to be drawn seperatly i.e. your bedroom and lower roofs need their own roof then the upper roof needs to be drawn next. To make sure they are drawn at the correct heights you need to go into the properties palette and make sure the correct heights are on the roofs like a 10' plate for the lower and 20' plate for the upper. Does that help?

Thank you, that helps, but when i put 10' roof how can I make it stick to the wall so it won't slide or inter the wall? Would I just remove the overhang and make it 0 in the properties?
Thank you for your help

You should be able to change the overhangs for every side in the properties palette. That is a fast way but if you want your roof to have a return, like most roofs do because it looks better than stopping at the wall, if you select the roof and covert to roof slab (I can't remember exactly what it is called but that sounds right) it should take the roof and make every face a seperate entity. You should then be able to treat the roof slab like a solid and subtract from it. Before you convert it though make a copy of the roof off to the side or somewhere that way in case the roof changes you dont have to regenerate it.
Hey once this is done can you take a screen shot of this I want to see what I am working on. :D
