Need help with layers/hatching

I am making some drawer labels in AutoCad 2000 and I need to make it so it prints out with text on top of a solid hatch of a different color. I made them different layers and I have the colors down right but when I print the hatch always goes on top of the text. Is it possible to make the hatch layer go behind the other layers in the printout?

Use the pull down menus

Tools>Display order>bring to front
