OK, I have been using an old (very) version of autocad (R10). I have done so for many reasons but I have now had the opportunity to learn the transition to Autocad 2002-2003. While I can navigate around pretty well and produce drawings easily, I have encounterd a problem - plotting. I have an HP Design Jet 230 and have used it extensively, seems to work well for my needs. I do not need to plot in color so that is not an issue. The problem is when I try to plot a drawing, I get all kinds of different line weights on my plots. I have gone thru the plotter manager and set up line weights for the corresponding colors, but it just doesn't seem to plot correctly. I can assign everything in a drawing to one layer and get a drawing with the same line thickness for all itmes in the drawing (ie. walls, windows, doors etc.), but each time I try to use multiple line weights / colors / layers and plot it I get all kinds of weird things. I have a habit of taking an old drawing (R10), importing it to the new cad program, and changing things for a new drawing. I do this because it is all set up and I just go in and modify the layout. Is this causing the problem - importing a R10, making changes and then trying toplot it? DoI need to totally create new drawings completely in Acad 2002? I know this is a long question, but any advice would be appreciated.

With .ctb you can change all that you wanna plot. You can change the color that you going to plot, the line weights (by color). Check your .ctb file
