I have a brand new installation of ACAD 2004 and am having a strange problem.
It will not allow me to specify any line length...
I enter line.. specify start point.. move in desired direction.. type length into the command line.. hit enter and it says.. point or option keyword required and will not complete the line, only asks me to specify next point or undo...
I am completely baffled. Can anyone help???

Tara, that's a strange one. Direct distance entry works the same in A2004 as it did in previous versions.
Are you sure that it's not something simple like yoy've got Shift Lock on or you don't have Num Lock on?

Could it be your units? I know by default the units are set to decimal and if you say type in 12' it will not work. Perhaps worth a look. Good luck :)

That was it!!!
I had set my units to feet.. but in the main setup had not switched from decimal to architectural. I did that and now it works as it should!
I knew that someone here would figure out the problem!
Thanks again guys.
