when I copy and paste from one drawing to another, the basepoint of my copied object switches when I go to paste the object.
is this a limits problem? I can't seem to figure it out.

You can use copy with basepoint you know.

It is more reliable, although slower, to create a block then insert it.

Yeah but..hard to beat highlight objects....ctrl-c click in other drawing ctrl-v
