Unable to delete viewport

I am using Autocad 2006 Lite...

I am trying to delete an existing viewport on a drawing but am unable to highlight/click the viewport border.

I looked at all the layer properties and none appeared to be frozen or locked.

Double click outside (or click on the model button on the status bar)the viewport to return to paperspace. Then select the viewport.

I figured out that the viewport layer was frozen in paper space....I only looked at the layer in model space, which was not frozen.
