I am positive I read a way to do this ages ago, but never tried it. Maybe one of you guys remembers how.

Basically if a layer name is more than about 10 or so letters long, it gets truncated in the window, making it tough to read which layer is which. I know you can 'hover' over it for a second or two, and the name will pop up, but I am pretty sure theres a way to just expand that drop down.

Does that software enable you to get rid of the "colour" drop down from 2002??? (within object properties) What does that do anyway??? Mine has been ghosted out grey for 18months!!!

QuikPik has a few little utillities that I like, such as being able to lock the toolbars. Sometimes when working too fast, I drag a toolbar to the middle of the screen. If you want a completely free add-on that only widens the layer drop-down list (and linetype drop-down list), Cadwerx has a routine called "FixCombos". It even tells you how to override the default width if it isn't wide enough.

Maybe that second link will fit my needs better, since honestly I rarely use the toolbars. I type in like 80% of my commands - soo much faster than using icons (most of the time).
