Following on from an earlier question;

I've surveyed an elevation, switched the named view to front view and am cleaning up the survey. I've rotated the ucs so that y is vertical, x horizontal.

Now when i try and insert a jpeg to fit to the survey it comes in as a flat line as if I'm viewing the top of it. I'm not very experienced with the UCS concept and am not sure what i can do. Any help would be appreciated.

Try UCS--> WORLD. If that doesn't work someone else might know.

Nope, didn't work. It just changed the UCS back so that Z is running vertical and the photo comes in flat. I guess i need a way of inserting the jpeg on the new ucs that i created rather than in world??

I'm also not too good with the UCS, or with much of CAD as yet to be honest! But try UCS > New > View to change the UCS to the current view?

EDIT- Sorry that's assuming you're currently viewing the elevation?

Thanks, but that didn't work either. If i can't sort this I think I'm going to have to leave work and go to the pub!

Probably not a bad idea lol... get to the cider house in Clifton, I never remember it's name as their super strength stuff usually leaves me a bit hazy, but I'm sure it's good for getting your mind off ucs'! :?

Think it's the Old Duke on King Street for me. Cheers.

try rotating the jpeg so that it can be viewed from above... since a jpeg is treated just like a poly shape in autocad. if you cant see it from above, find a view that looks at it from the side (it will still look impossible thin) and rotate it from vertical to horizontal. That might work anyway

I believe the cider house people are alluding to in the Coronation Tap in Clifton Village? I used to live right near it! just writing it's name gives me a headache.

oh sorry, it's been resolved

Any image will come in at the CURRENT UCS XY setting.
