Question...when using the ceiling grid from the tools palette...2007

I insert the ceiling grid into my drawing and it is not visible. It is only visible when I go to the Work-RCP layout.

any thoughts...I am sure its just a simple setting.

thanks,

I'm assuming, usually a dangerous thing to do, that you are looking at a single floor of a structure. While I'm unfamiliar with Building systems, there is a standard in CAD programs that comes from the architectural world that is probably the issue here. A floor plan shows what only would appear in the area from the floor to 4 feet above it. Imagine there is a section plane that goes through the structure horizontally, 4 feet up. That's why in ADT, for example, if you draw a half-wall shorter than 4 feet, it's appearance changes drastically.

Hope that helps explain it.

Figures after I posted...I figured it out...the setting is in Display Manager under Representations by Object...there is a setting to be visible in model space.

Sorry

Thanks for the reply Crom....
I get what your sayin...if you make the height of the wall sorter than 4ft it will show the top of the wall rather than the cut.

There is a way to set the cutting plane to a different height, but I'm always very wary of suggesting it, since it will really change the way drawings appear. Glad there's a simple solution for your problem.

Sorry

What do you change under Representations by Object to make it work... I can't seem to get it to work...
