Slow down I want to learn. I work last 20 years with forming machines (brake press, roller, rollformer)and never got chance to bend anything on Inventor ( got version 9). How I can get on it without accelerate to light speed

I wished to be able slowing down:). You will bend, flat patterns, etc in IV very soon:).
I wrote a detailed tutorial (pdf) with lots of step-by-step info but was not able to post it. So I had to erase many things and post as .jpg.
I do intend to write many other "mind spinning" sheet metal tutorials. I am lucky to have a challangeing job and gives me sourse of inspiration. Pehaps Cadtutor could give an advice since other models are more complicated than the above and probably the pdf. will be bigger:).
Until than if you have questions on the above -go ahead.

Run thru the built in tutorials first - offsets, faces, cuts, flat patterns etc - then fire away with questions.

Send me some of yours tutorial on my private e-mail.(No limit with file size I think)
Need to start learning from beginning not like usually from middle.
I think I work too long with Autocad and that why can't get some of IV command and rules.Try to use same in both applications. My address:

Hit F1 in inventor and start with 'creating a part' and keep going. That's how I learnt first with IV7. You may also find the 'Getting Started' files on the CD.

Sorry if I have offended you. The post was for Mbddesign. Not yourself.
I found the IV tutorials built in, a good start before searching for online stuff.
I won't ban the mesage, not up to me as I don't run the site.
Cheers

Message delete it.
I just hate when you post F1 button message. IV tutorials need a heavy update specially on sheet metals. Every new version of IV contains one and the same bunch of tutorials- they give an idea but far from being effective.
To learn how the button for Cut/ Face/ Bend are looking alike and how they work, tutorials are good- but that is all. We know in manufacturing things look different than tutorials in IV.
Thanks Nick, i have headache
