Hi all

I'm trying to make a bay window with visibility states for different numbers of window lights. The first few states are working okay but two of stretches on No 5 won't work correctly and show parts missing.

What have I done wrong???

I found the problem. The 1st stretch that makes the window bigger was broken on the 5th one. I fixed this by:

Turning on the visibility mode (top bar right side last button on the left orange and white bozes) then selecting the stretch1 parameter and re-selecting the lines. All fixed and here you go.

Glad I helped. I just got into the more complicated uses of dynamic blocks and the whole moving incriments was a big help. You seem to know what your doing but everyone has a brain fart now and again. :D

Ha ha! I haven't a clue what I'm doing!! Actually I only made my first one a few days ago.. after I bought some which were imperial (when I wanted metric) - then I was on 'mission impossible' to create my own.

I have to admit I would never have found out what was wrong with it. I'm making stairs now - I just like headaches, I think!

Thanks again.

Well post them here if you have anymore "issues". I know somethings about this but am still picking up a few tips here and there. Here is our window block I made to keep all our windows in line and the same on all 3 elevations. Things to know:

Color 39 (brown) is a screened layer at 0 so it prints white. The solid window hatch is screened out to 0 in construction but kept at 100 for design.

Added the door block too for grins. Same color 39 rule applies.

I'm gonna study them! Cheers.

Just for laughs, here's my stairway so far. It won't flip or rotate without sending bits everywhere. And I've gotta read up on attributes yet to sort the text out..

I took a quick look at it but nothing more. It did the same thing to me so when i have time I will play with it more. Few things I saw:
-Make sure that perameters that stretch on the X and Y axis the grips move to. When you make the stair long then make it wide the long arrow stays in the same spot. Grab the perimeter in the strch and the arrow will move.
-When making the block start with the smallest it will be then make it larger. It looked like you drew the medium size than made it able to shrink down. I find it easyier to make it the smallest it will ever be then strech from there.

These are just my sugestions though everything else looked ok. :)

Thanks for the feedback. Will try out your suggestions tomorrow. I did make it 950mm originially (I think) then got carried away cos I've discovered the increment tool ...

Good to know I'm at least somewhere on the right lines.

By the way congrats on now bing a junior member!:) and where is this being used? US? Europe? Other? Need to know what units to use so you don't have to convert the blocks over.

I haven't forgot about you I just haven't had time to really get into the blocks and make them presentable. BTW, how do you feel about having a mask layer? (See my post above for explaination, post #3) I got it to flip and rotate but the vertical strech and the break line i am still working with to make the break look natural. I will be out of town this weekend but should have some time durring next week. My office training of our new procedures I have implimented got moved from monday to today so I am rushing to get all my drawings set up to show our new drafting standards. Just wanted to let you know I didn't forget.:)

Thanks Seann

There's no rush, I've been snowed under with work myself the last few days, so I know what it's like.

Flip AND rotate. I'm well impressed!!! Don't know much about masks, but if they make things work, it's good for me! Maybe the answer to the break line is to 'cop out' and use a regular straight line. I wonder if I just MAKE things difficult sometimes. (Do my clients really care what their stairs look like on plan? Or only me?)

I appreciate all your efforts for me. Thanks again. Catch you soon.
