Hello I am new to this site and I have a simple question. I am taking a test for a company and I havent used Autocad in a couple years. I want to add some doors and windows to the drawing. I opened the design center up and I couldnt find out where the blocks were. Am I doing something wrong? Is there an easier way to add doors and windows. Im using Autocad 2005. Please help me ASAP. Thank you...

Did Design Center ever have doors and windows? Do your doors and windows have to be blocks or can't you just draw them in. If they have to be blocks then sounds like you need to make some if they don't then it is faster to draw them in now and find them later. For a company test, if timed, don't take time looking for things just draw it fast and move on. This again is only my solution.

I wasn't trying to sound like an jerk. Just letting you know a faster way to finish. Sorry if it came off that way.

I wouldn't worry about that Seann....half the time in a 'test' environment, I often put something in to make the candidate use his/her initiative. In this case it might have been getting them to ask:-

'Do you not have standard door/window blocks on a company pallette somewhere'

Asking that question would be more relevant to me than drawing a block from scratch

I would also consider what Jules_s said about asking where any blocks are kept on which hard drive. Show's you understand the importance of blocks and how to use them....:)
