Does anybody know a way to pedit an entity drawn in side view to an entity drawn in top view. I know there isnt many reasons to due so but for the car i am designing many other people and myself have already determined these two entites must be joined inorder to achieve the desired shape. I have already tried to break the car down into different amounts of pieces, form surfaces and combine them to create the entire car, but there is no way to do so.

You'll need to give us a little more information on what you are trying to do. It isn't possible to join two or more ploylines drawn in different UCS using PEDIT. In effect this would give you a 3D Polyline.
Are you trying to create a surface? More details please!

I am currently designing an automobile on autocad. The car i am trying to form is based off of a 1955-1957 Jaguar D-type. This design is particularly hard to accomplish due to the rounded front and rolling fenders flowing into the sides. I have been trying to form the entire shape using the EDGESURF command by using the polyline option from the draw pull down menu and forming four sides for each component. Upon completion of each single component i was trying to attempt piecing them together to form the entire shape. I am not familar with the 3D polyline option, what is the difference between it and the polyline option? I have determined i need a polyline drawn in top view to connect to a polyline drawn in side vew to achieve the desired shape after discussing it with my teacher and advanced classmates. This may not be the only way or the right way I just dont know anything else i can do to fix this problem. If you have any new suggestions in forming the wireframe differently or how i can edit the current shapes i have already created i would greatly appreciate it. I am a junior at York County School of Technology and i am using this design for my GRADUATION PROJECT. I have to have at least the front end finished by FRIDAY for a up to date presentation, but i do not want to present it with this dip in the joining of the two pieces im open to all suggestions
Thank you all,
Bucky

In your reply you stated it isnt possible to join two or more polylines drawn in different UCS using PEDIT. Is the another command inwhich i could use to achieve this same effect? I never used a 3D polyline any information on how to form wireframes using a 3dpolyline would be extremely helpful
thanks

I would be tempted to try a different option.... to be honest I wouldn't attempt sucha thing in Autocad... Max or Viz is much better suited to this type of work... anyway, in Autocad ~ I would draw a profile of the front, side and top views, each on their respective UCS.
I would then extrude each of them in turn. Once they are extruded, you can use the boolean interference command to create a solid of the interference. This will give you a solid which has the general shape of your design. You can then go into more detail using commands such as fillet & chamfer to eliminate any redundant "square" edges.

two comments:
1. I wrote a PREDIT3D.lsp. See the download from www.black-cad.de.
2. I'm just doing a project to create a SOLID from it's bounding surfaces (3d-meshes, bunch of 3d-faces...) by creating the projection-SOLIDs in x-, y- and z-direction (or if necessary by using more views). Then I use the INTERFERE-command to get the resulting SOLID. It works quite good for surfaces consisting of plain surface areas (regions for instance). Problems will occure if there are splined or arc-shaped surfaces.
In case of interest please contact me via www.black cad.de.
