Thanks,I'm just a bit paranoid I'll end up buying it from a duff company,leaving my ownership of the domain worthless.There must be certain companies that have a register of domains that they buy from a issuing company.Heard theres a lot of dodgy companies out thetre,thanks CAD Tutor I'll have a look into it.

If you're worried about the hosting company going bust, or disappearing overnight and the affect that may have on your domain name I would suggest using www.123reg.co.uk

You can purchase all your domains via them and move them to new hosts with the minimum of fuss.

Yes, it is a good idea to register domains with a domain specialist and then shop around for hosting. Although I use UKREG for domains, I now host with Clook.co.uk (http://www.clook.co.uk)

Since you can configure your domains to point to any host, it's easy to change hosts when you need to.
