SU, at least in my case, does not import any of my blocks, only after i explode them in AutoCAD do they show up.

Yeah, SketchUp does not like blocks. It also does not like polylines that much.

I find that to sucessfully import anything from Autocad to SketchUp you need to do quite a bit of clean up. Plan on re-drawing some elements once in SketchUp, like the curves on your railing.

Typically when I get an Autocad file from an architect or landscape architect I will take it to bare bones. Save as a new file. Then I ask; "what lines do I need so that I can start the push/pull without any glitches." I delete everything else, explode everything left, make sure they are all at 0 z axis (unless I am importing 3d data) then start from there. I also make sure there are no small lines at intersections.

Now I understand you are importing 3d data but your image simple enough that you could start most of it from 2d data.

Hope this helps not confuses.

Cheers.
