Hi winson123,
I havn't been able to apply a hatch pattern to a solid, but what I did seems to be a neat workaround.
See the pic supplied, http://picserver.org/view_image.php/8DQ2L0QG379A/picserver.png
Sorry, quality could be better!
It is a filter cartridge which has a metal mesh rolled around the media.
To achieve this look I drew a rectangle, on the defpoints layer, say 10mm x height req'd and applied a hatch pattern on a layer called "hatch". Then polar array'd the rec & hatch around the cylindrical solid. Maintain a gap between the hatched rectangles and solid to avoid merging.
This doesn't translate when you SOLPROF the model as the hatch pattern isn't a 3D object, but it does show in shademodes and wiremode.
Hope this helps,
Regards, Neil

Hi winson123,
in Flores reply to your other post "Urgent need help"...
snip>
If your cylinder is showing up as a bunch of zig-zags whenever you are doing a hide plot, change your "dispsilh" variable to number 1. To plot your objects hidden, right-click your viewport, and for "hide plot" pick yes.
snip<
The hatch pattern I described in my earlier post will still show with the dispsilh variable set to 1, dimensions are also visible, but may be obscured if they are 'behind' a solid.

Neil

I would just add a material. Type RMAT search n appropriate material. ATTACH it the RENDER. Tweak the settings.
In INVENTOR u can even add a DECAL it's cool.
