I got up this morning to find in my Inbox 2 emails from CADzette requesting anyone who has visited Autodesk's website in the past week or so, to do a FULL virus-scan on their machine.
Here is the contents of the first email I received:
CADzette - Special Advisory
SUBTITLE Do Not Access Autodesk's Website
Some of you may be aware that Autodesk recently revamped their website. When I attempted to access it this morning, my firewall set off alarms...there is a virus on their website called I-Frame-Mal. This was not there last week. If you have accessed their website since last Friday, please scan your computer to ensure you have not been infected.
You can also do an on-line scan using TrendMicro's Free Housecall.
Free On-Line Virus Scanner (http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?t=y7tgi5bab.0.awfgi5bab.7cfhmvn6.1490&ts=S0230&p=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.trendmicro.com%2Fhc_intro%2Fdef ault.asp)
Here is the contents of the second email I received:
CADzette Advisory Update
SUBTITLE Virus Update
Autodesk contacted me during the lunch hour to find out more about the virus. I emailed them what information I had. I just checked their site and my firewall now says their website is clean.
My Apologies if my warning was scary and one colleague asked me if it was my idea of an April Fools' joke (I wish!).
I am not sure what the problem was, but I am glad that it is rectified. I visit Autodesk's website almost daily looking for tools, updates, and information. I am sure you find it as valuable a resource as I do.
So, happy surfing!
