I have just discovered the multiline tool.
Can somebody help me with a few probs?
When I have been drawing walls I have always used the offset command for wall thickness you guys probably think I have been doing it the hardway. Now I see the multiline command I can see why. Altho you get used to it.
Can you tell me how do I set the offset for a wall 120mm thick or whatever. Also if I want to draw a wall say 3000 long as an internal dimension, how do I do this. Each time I draw the wall at 3000 long it gives me the dimension at 2880 as it's taking off the 120mm. I have my units set in mm.
Also is there a way of setting up a multiline toolbar and putting it next to my line toolbar. I'm not sure why the multiline isn't already there with the other drawing tools.
Can you please give simple instructions thanks.
Thanks All Happy Easter

Check out the MLSTYLE command.

Start the MLINE command, Type J for Justification and then B for Bottom. You should then be able to get your inside dimensions correct.

Do you mean a Multiline button? There is already a macro set up for the Multiline in your CUI. There is no button icon though, so you will have to pick one from the button image gallery or create your own. Or just type ML at the command line to initiate the command.

Post back if you need more help. :)

Type CUI at the command prompt to open the CUI interface.
In the top left section, double click on Toolbars to expand its contents and then double click on Draw to expand its contents. Now go down to the lower left section, make sure 'Categories' is set to 'All Commands', and then scroll down the list until you find the first 'Multiline' entry. Click it to select it and then look to the right and you will see the Properties of the Multiline you selected. Everything on your screen should look the same as the screen shot below.

You will notice that under Images, (Small Image and Large Image), there is no entry. That means that there is no icon associated with this command. You can either pick an icon from the Button Image gallery above, or you will have to create one by selecting one of the existing icons and then click the Edit button. You can then modify the icon, click the SaveAs button and save it as a different name. After you save your new button icon, close the button editor and then browse to the bottom of the Button Image gallery to find your new icon and select it.

Once you have your button created, simply click and hold your mouse button on the Multiline again from the lower left section and drag it up to the upper left section. Hover your cursor in the area between 'Line' and 'Construction Line'. You should see a bar appear between the two. When you see the bar, let go of your mouse button and the Multiline will drop onto that toolbar, in that location.

Now hit 'Apply' and then 'Ok' to exit the CUI.

Once you get back into the drawing area, you should see your new button on the 'Draw' toolbar, in between 'Line' and 'Construction Line'.

Thanks Cad64
That all worked fine, easy when you know how eh?
I take it you can add buttons for other items the same way.
I used the icon with a double slash it looks the obvious choice for mutiline.
