Quick Select

Is it possible to use the QUICK SELECT command to filter text on an isolated layer? The QUICK SELECT command filtered text on all layers wether isolated or unisolated. I did not want that result.

Try using the Express Tools' Getsel command...it can be used transparently too.

you could also use the filter command and add text and layer in the selection list and go from there...i'm actually quite surprised how little this function is discussed here...qselect is the "lite" version of this command but since there's no button readily available for it i guess it gets left behind...:(

an oh, to use it transparently just add the normal ' (appostrophy, sp?) in front of it when you type it in...

I use FILTER all the time.....to me it is very powerfull. I have added the following command alias to my acad.pgp file.....
FI, *FILTER

Whenever (which is quite often) I want to use the filter command, I type the command (say CHANGE), then type 'FI, set the parameters, invoke, and carry on.....very easy and relatively quick. :)
