I was wondering if anyone has been able to do a SU version of a landscape/grade plan with variations in elevations?

I made some feeble attempts at it and i've been unsuccessful at really making it work out...

just wondering if anyone here has tried it?

Well this is un finished but it was created from a 3d cad topo import.

I created this in the hopes of placing the client's house on their site. The project is currently on hold.

Probably not exactly what you wanted to see but there it is.

i was wondering how to do that.

Import your 3d data. Do any cleanup before or after as needed. Then select everytihing you brought in and click "From Contours" on your sandbox tools and there you go. You might have to tweak it a bit however.

Have fun.

Here's my first attempt:

Now here's a hypothetical 1/4 of the house:

Now, with the two together:

Now forming a deck, beginning stages:

Looking good. Have you tried the sandbox tools at all?

Here are a couple images of what can easily be done with the smoove tool. Great for terrain especially if you don't have 3d data.

Here are a couple images of a job I did a while ago. Subtle grade changes but it works nice.

Just remember, always keep your terrain a seperate component or you will run into big problems.
