Rendered images are not part of the core acad pakage. Shading is. Look into the shademode command for control over screen images. -David

Hello Bigmac!
When you render, you can choose the destination of the resulted image. In the Render window under Destination you have a drop-down menu.
If you select Wiewport as destination, the image will cover the model. You can not save that image (except maybe a screen capture).
Select Render Window and the image will open in a new window. After rendering more images in the Render window, you may select the best image and save it from the File > Save.
Also you may render in a file, meaning that an image file will be created. Using a File as destination you have more control over the resulted image (size, resolution...).
Do you plan to show us your image?

Rendering is mainly used for presentations other than having a nice visual there isnt really any other reason to need the object(s) rendered while working with them. Use 4 viewports and position the objects as you want the to appear rendered and render each one separately this will give you 4 different views of a single rendered object.

You can't rotate a rendered view, it is a static image. You can't rotate, zoom in, zoom out, etc. a rendered image. Right-click any ACAD button, and pick "Shade" to bring up the "Shade" toolbar. You can rotate, zoom in, etc. a shaded view.

You can have materials and rnderingon and rotate and model.

It is a settign within the command OPTIONS

Type OPTIONS

Goto the DISPLAY tab, then CURRENT 3D GRAPHICS DISPLAY

Then hit the PROPERTIES button

Then on the top right, RENDER OPTIONS hit the ENABLE
materials and textures. You can even have transparency.

Enjoy.
