I am an Industrial Designer, just started into a job designing shop interiors, fittings and equipment.
We are looking at the possibilities here for future software requirements, and are interested in ArchiCAD, Viz & Rhino. Because of my Industrial Design background I would be in favour of Rhino for modelling & design (+ Penguin looks really good) and Vis for renderings and amimation. In my previous job I used SolidWorks and Max.

I am not fully aware of the benefits of ArchiCAD, but it does look like a pretty serious option. And it would be standard kit in this industry.

Can you please offer any opinions or views. :-/

hi There

bluefoam,

i dont have any experience with Archicad since v1.0 back then with the P60, and since then i am sure it is much Improved.

i do have experience with VIZ and so far so good. i do architectural work, mostly exteriors, but VIZ can do Interiors with Radioisty quite well.

if you know Max, and use Rhino then importing into VIZ should work out well.

for some Links to Lists of Links for etc VIZ check out:

www.viz2000.com

i am not sure about Penguin, have never used it.
do you have a website with some examples of interior work? do you combine architectural modeling with product designs?

Thanks
