Linetypes

I am using AutoCAD 2000. I want to draw a footing using a dashed line to show that the footing is hidden. When I try to make a linetype selection for the footing layer, the pop up box shows up greyed out, and empty. Help, please.

Have you loaded this linetype? If you aren't working from a template which already has it loaded, you have to load to do it yourself.

In the menu bar click Format, then Linetype to bring up the Linetype Manager. Click Load, select the linetype(s) you want, and click OK.
