Hi everybody,
few days ago I had the pleasure to interview Giuseppe Massoni, an Italian goldsmith and jewelry designer from a family of jewelers. The Massoni are designing and making jewels in Rome since 1790.
Giuseppe is the latest generation of the family and is introducing new technologies on a centuries old tradition.
He uses 3D software (Rhino) for the design, CAM software (MecSoft Visual Mill and RhinoCAM) and rapid prototyping devices (Roland DGA).
During the interview Giuseppe talks about himself, the impact of new technologies in his work, and about the evolution of jewelery design.
You can read the complete interview on the Novedge blog (http://blog.novedge.com/2007/04/an_interview_wi_3.html). I think it can be an interesting reading for the members of this forum.
