Hi. I am new to using AUTOCAD 2000.
I just tried to draw something to learn using autocad, but have no idea.
This is me.
I have architecture blue print and I want to draw it with autocad 2000.
Blue print, 140' by 180' building first floor. scale is 1/8"=1'.
I don't even know where to start. How can I setup my page to start?
I know this is stupid question and it might be too Advance thing for me. But I just want to try draw this print ( because it seems so simple, there are only few lines and there is no even cicles.)
Can anyone help me? I don't want to give up this NEW-LEARNING....
Thanks in advance..

Try this link CADTutor (http://www.CADTutor.net) Tons of help here.

Another great site is... CAD guys site... (http://www.we-r-here.com/cad/index.htm)

Both of these have great tutorials on how to use CAD!! Check em out!

There are a couple of routes to take.

First determine if you want to draw this sheet full scale or keep it at the 1/8" scale that it is at. Then, ask yourself what the purpose of putting this in AutoCAD is. Do you want to merely preserve the drawing digitally? Do you wish to plot it? Do you wish to manipulate it?

If you want to preserve the drawing digitally, then you could just scan it or go somewhere and have it scanned into a TIFF file. You would then have a file that is viewable in windows without CAD, but the image is importable to AutoCAD for future use.

From there, if you wish to manipulate the drawing, you can trace the drawing using lines, circles and what have you.

If you only wish to manipulate the drawing, then simply start drawing using common points and the correct entities (lines, circles, etc.)

Once you have a digital recreation of the drawing in you computer, then you can scale it up if you want full size.

Many avenues to travel down here.
