I searched and found no solutions. I am using Autocad 2007 and can view 3d workspaces and 2d workspace fine when I load another drawing. However, when I start from scratch on a new drawing, it defaults to 3d modeling workspace and even when I choose "classic" from the dropdown menu, It remains in 3d model mode. I have already done a complete uninstall/reinstall. Anyone who can point me to a helpful solution will receive my gratitude.

You are confusing workspaces and template drawings.

Choosing a certain workspace has no effect on the template drawing used.

When you run the ._NEW command, select "acad.dwt" not "acad3d.dwt"

Ok, I am pretty newbular at this. Thank you.

One of the things that might be confusing you is the 3D dashboard, which has a habit of sticking around even when you change workspaces.
