View Full Version : problem with plotting

We plot to a networked HP1050c with a 36" roll loaded. We use all 5 custom
sizes to handle our particular sheet sizes, and then go into "Modify
Standard Paper Sizes (Printable Area)" to reduce the margins on all sides to
zero. Like I said, this works fine in Acad2000. In 2004, the first time I
set the printable area (before the PMP file has been created), it prompts
for the margins, then the filename, and it saves correctly. After that, no
matter what sheet size I select to modify, it prompts for the margins, seems
to proceed normally, and allows me to finish/exit. But if I recheck the
sheet size I just changed, it's already back to its original margins. It's
not a permission issue, as the file is stored locally and I have full
administrative rights to the PC.

I can't find anything on Autodesk's support knowledgebase, nor have I seen
anything like this listed in this newsgroup. If anyone has any suggestions
(hopefully short of creating multiple PC3/PMP combos for each sheet size and
orientation), I would appreciate it.

i would like to use more than one paper size with one .pc3.

well thanks in advance.

i would like to use more than one paper size with one .pc3.

We have the similar set up in our office...instead of creating the pc3...we just changed everything in the plotter settings.

For instance we have two 1050c's one for 24in and one for 36in. we named the 24in Standard Small and set up our 5 custom paper sizes, and we did the same for the 36in which is called Standard Large. By doing that it doesn't matter what program we are in the computer sees those two plotters and gives us those 5 custom settings. On my computer we have 2004, 2007, and just now got 2008 and we only it automatically recognized the plotters with each upgrade.

Hope this helps...kind of confusing...and I'm not real great at explaining things:D

Hi and thanks for your anwer, but my really need is something like this (i gonna explain it in another words):

i want to create a .pc3 file which the printable area of severals size of paper were configured and i could apply them to my select size of paper without changing more than one .pc3.

Because for example when i configure a .pc3 file and i modify his printable area for a size A3, then when i want to modify for a A4 (for ex.) , the program dont let my new configuration saved for the A4 in the same .pc3.

Do you undertand my question? if you dont please tell me, and i would ask in another way, and thank you very much again for your atention!.
