Hi everyone, I'm new here:)

I use autocad 2005 and I'm finished making my title block with attributes and it's ready to put into paper space. Unfortunately,I can't get the title block to fit perfectly because the border I gave it doesn't position correctly from me trying to "eye" it.

I was reading a little bit and I've tried inserting it @0,0 in both model and paper space. Can I try something else or am I doing it wrong? Is there a way to align it perfectly?

I prefer to plot from paper space with the "What to Plot" option set to layout.

If you use this method, you will need to position the title block on the page using the move command.

Insert the title block into paperspace, center it and print it. If you don't like the print out, move the title block around.

Other may prefer to plot by window or extents and then check the option "Center the plot". The problem with this method is the window can change size or your extents can change.

If you created your title block in model space in it's own drawing and set the lower left corner at 0,0 then when you insert it into another drawing in paper space as a block or xref it should drop in at 0,0. You shouldn't have to move it around at all. It may take a little trial and error to get it set correctly in it's original drawing since you need to have a 1/2" border along the bottom and left edge for printing in paper space, but once you get that set, you should never have to mess with it again.

Every plotter has different limits. By default the paper space orgin (0,0) is the lower left hand corner of the margin (printable area), not the edge of the sheet.

If you change the "Specify Plot offset relative to" setting to "Edge of Paper", then the 1/2" border is 1/2" from the edge of paper. See the options command, Plot & Publish tab.

ok well since I don't use paper space a lot I am just guessing here, but could you scale it down a bit to fit??

This worked because it gave me the 1/2 inch border at the bottom of the page which was fine for a title block at the bottom of the page. How do I give my layout page a border around the entire page though? can I offset somehow?

Lets assume that your layout is a 17x11 sheet plotted horizontally.

Draw a rectangle at 0,0 and type @17,11 for the other corner. This will draw a rectangle the exact size of the sheet. Use OFFSET and offset the rectangle toward the center 0.5"
