Generated Plot date label

I got a drawing with the auto generated plot date label showing as rectangle and cross marks like presenting a door or window opening instead of text. I can not delete it, can somebody please tell me how to get rid of it.

I'm using v2004 and somehow the dwg I'm refering to was created with a higher version.

check your plotstamp settings..option>>plot & publish>>plotstamp settings.

Just guessing: it could be a diesel expression generating the plot stamp but you don't have the express tools installed...
