I can't copy clip from one drawing to another!

This sounds really easy but for some reason I can't Copy Clip anything from one drawing to another. I tried Copy with base point and a regular copy and nothing works, I just upgraded to 2008 from 2007 and ever since the upgrade this has been a problem, anyone know what I am missing? Excluding a little intelligence.......
