I've recently upgraded from AutoCAD 2004 to AutoCAD 2007. In 2004 I've been used to cycling through objects that are close together by holding down ctrl and left-clicking. Now when I try this in 2007 I get some silly message about using a combination of shift & space or ctrl & space, but neither seems to work like it did in 2004 (I can cycle between the different objects, but can't seem to tell AutoCAD which is the one that I actually want). Getting a little frustrated with it - can anyone shed any light?! Thanks...

Rooster....

I have no problem using CYCLE in 2007, using SHIFT + SPACE BAR...having said that...it does get a bit tricky.....I guess the only answer I can give you is to keep trying until you get the hang of it.......:( sorry, mate.....

Thanks Alan. I can cycle through the objects ok, but in 2004 you used to hit enter when you had the object you wanted highlighted, whereas in 2007 there doesn't seem to be any way to confirm which is the object you are looking for?

Rooster....

Start your command....do the cycle......then hit ENTER......your command will then act on your selection. Get back to us if you are still having problems.....:)

That's what I've been trying, but when I hit enter nothing is selected. :(

You have to make sure that during your cycling process, a line is actually selected.....as I said... it can be bit tricky......but it does work......all I can can suggest is keep practicing......you will eventually get it....

I still have problems with this.......I cancel the command, and start again....then I get the line I want to delete.......and BINGO.....its gone. As I said .......just keep trying ....it will eventually happen.....:D
