Corel Draw to AutoCAD

Folks - Been sent some drawings that i need for working the weekend, now apparently they were drawn in Corel Draw and saved / converted into Dwg files to be sent to me.

Now i can open the drawings up but as soon as i try a command AutoCAD crashes. Is this a commen problem? is there a way i can sort it so i can extract the details i require for my drawings? HELP

Very common issue. Ctrl-C all of the visible enities and paste them into a new drawing. Also Corel uses splines and not polylines, so you need to explode all the splines or convert them with a spline2pline LISP routine.
