I have a 3D image that was sent to me for fabrication. It is drawn as a solid but when I print it it is 3D but not solid is there a way to accomplish printing a solid image.

Check Shaded Viewport Option under Plot. What's it set too?

Well, I don't see that as an option. I amrunning 2004 is that maybe the reason.

it has been a while since I have worked in 2004, but give this a try. Select the viewport, right-click and then select properties from the pop-up menu. In the properties window, look for "Shaed Plot" under the Misc tab. Select that and then made the appropriate selection from the drop-down menu.

Yeah I did look there didn't find anything. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. It is probably easy if you know but I can't seem to find anything on it even in the help

Go to page setup before you try to plot it

Theres a drop down bar in there somewhere(Im helpful I know) and set it to current display

It pertains to the shademode

Save the page as SHADE or something easy to remember

Now you should be able to plot it and any other 3D object from both model space and paperspace

I checked out the shademode command and this is fine to change the character of the image but it still doesn't help me with printing. It already looks solid and 3D but when I print it it prints as a 3d wireframe. Any other suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Oh by the way I have 2002 not 2004 I must have been day dreaming or something.

Did you ever figure out a solution? I seem to be having the same issue with AutoCad2000.
