I don't know if this has already been spoken of here but I accidently found a handy help for drawing with DUCS on. When you want to draw someting with a face as UCS reference you of course simply hoover over that face untill you see it being selected, then your UCS has been temperarely changed to that face, however if you move your cursor away from that face again the UCS is back to where it was.
In Acad 2008, if you hit the ALT key the UCS stays on the selected face. The grips don't seem to work anymore, but it still can be handy for quickly creating a model..
