pc user Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 I have problem with copy paste. sometimes when i just copy and paste, object is far away of my pickbox. I can use copy with base point but i wanna now why is it happening. Thanks PS. sorry if my english is not good Quote
Guest Alan Cullen Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 This may sound pretty stupid.....but today I had one of the surveyors ring me and basically tell me to fix my 2007 up so they could copy paste in my drawings I sent them.........They were using 2000 (I save back to 2004). Apparently this copy/paste issue is a recognised acad bug.......and there is a patch out to fix it........I can't remember the google search for it.....but I will find out when I get back to work tomorrow....wait up all.......it is there....... It has to do with saving down from 2007. Quote
Strix Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 but they are running 2006 according to their blurb Alan - does that mean there's a different solution? Quote
ASMI Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Check up BASE system variable: Command: base Enter base point <0.0000,0.0000,0.0000>: *Cancel* Quote
Laufer Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Your original drawing, the one that you are trying to copy into a new one, is drawn far away from the UCS origin (the point 0,0,0). The same happens with blocks and X-refs. Quote
Cad64 Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Also, make sure your UCS is set to the same orientation in both drawings. If one is rotated, your object will be thrown out in space when pasted. Quote
pc user Posted June 18, 2007 Author Posted June 18, 2007 base point is 51862.7179, 27074.9103, 0.0000 I change to 0, 0, 0 but there is no difference. Some drawings have base point different then 0,0,0 and there is no problem. Quote
pc user Posted June 18, 2007 Author Posted June 18, 2007 problem occur when i get drawings from some architects ( i am HVAC designer ) . I assume that they do something with drawing when they convert them. Also if i copy all objects and paste in new drawing , problem disappear. Quote
zars Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 I think it's because of the "units", check you have the same units set up in both drawings and then try again. Quote
Guest Alan Cullen Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 but they are running 2006 according to their blurb Alan - does that mean there's a different solution? No, mate...the fix is for everything below 2007...I didn't know anything about it until today...... Quote
SLW210 Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 No, mate...the fix is for everything below 2007...I didn't know anything about it until today...... This problem appears to be in all versions 2004~2007. If you save a drawing to an earlier version you can not copy and paste from the drawing. Autodesk has a hotfix for this. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=7450124&linkID=9240618 Quote
Helenka Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 Right-mouse click "Copy with base point" or CTRL+SHIFT+C Quote
Guest chewingyu Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 I am currently using Autocad 2000LT. Recently viewed a drawing with 2007LT and did some changes and saved in the lower version. Little did I know it would cause a Cut/Paste problem. So, now I have that problem and, as directed by the Hotfix, I tried locating the dll file but cannot find it. So could someone advise me what to do next? Quote
SLW210 Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 Go to the start menu select search and do a search for acdb17.dll. If that doesn't work just search *.dll. Quote
Jage Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 I too have had this problem of Cut & Paste hanging for up to 12 mins and it also seemed to start with a drawing from an architect?? Try this, it worked for me. (you'll need to do it in both the drawing you are cutting from and the drawing you are pasting too). In the command line type -scalelistedit Reset Yes Exit Quote
